Vibemetrix Daily Vibe - Information Overload and Blogging

by Chel Wolverton on October 21, 2008

  • Back to that information overload again, this time with even better advice from Sarah Perez.  She talks about her issues with information overload and what she does to battle it.  I know I’m preaching to the choir on this one, but I think it bears repeating.
  • And if you’re running for time, but want to mention something short and sweet, Conversation Agent ConverStations Mike Sansone reminds us that short blog posts are more than okay!
  • If you do have some time to spare and want to generate inbound links plus give someone else a break from their pressing schedule, pitch yourself as a guest blogger.  If you come across a blog you really love and you think you can write a great article, email the blogger, make it clear why you want to contribute, and see what happens.  Read the article on Get Elastic first, but it’s a great way to build authority.
  • Speaking of blogging, sometimes companies ask, “Should we start a blog?”. The answer is yes, most definitely, here’s some advice on how to get started.  If you’re blogging already and have a great focus on your industry topics, keep writing and set your goals on becoming a thought leader in your community.  And remember, no, blogging isn’t dead.
Update:  It seems I’m suffering a little information overload myself and have make a correction above regarding the blog that Mike Sansone writes for.  Apologies both to ConversationAgent Valeria Maltoni and Mike for the mistake.

It was a good mix up - I really admire Mike and consider him a mentor in this space. You gave me a big smile early in the morning, so kudos to you for that.
